Seven Sisters Festival
In august you can enjoy the Seven Sisters Festival, an event dedicated to unmarried girls and young lovers. It is a very old annual festival, dated 740 BC, but its popularity keeps it in the calendar of the Hong Kong major events. It takes place on Bowen Rd, Wan Chai, Hong Kong. Every year, this is one of the most popular free street events, gathering thousands of visitors.
Festival of the Hungry Ghosts
On the 24th of August Chinese people celebrate the Festival of the Hungry Ghosts. The Chinese people believe that every year, in August, Hades gates open and ghosts come to get their reward: food, any kind of possessions, opera and theatre. This is a traditional festival which shows the true Chinese style and culture.

Mid-Autumn Festival
Every year, when the moon is full and bright, thousands of lights fill the parks and streets. The Mid-Autumn Festival is an ancient Chinese habit that celebrates the rebels from 14th Century. In their honor people eat yuek beng (moon cakes) and decorate the city with amazing lights. In 2010 this event will be celebrated on the 22nd of September at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre.
Fine Art Asia
The Fine Art Asia is an annual event which will take place in 2010 between October 3-6 at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. This is a place where art lovers meet art dealers and enjoy beautiful antiques and contemporary art works. Here you can find jade objects next to old furniture and wood decorations. You will not be disappointed by the variety and quality of the art works. The prices are not as high a you may think, so this is a good opportunity to shop as well.
Chung Yeung Festival (the Remembrance Festival)
The Chung Yeung Festival, also known as the Remembrance Festival, is an annual event when people visit the graves of family members and pay their respects. It is related to an ancient legend about a man who saved his family by taking them to a high place, advised by a soothsayer. When he got back, he found everyone dead. People celebrate the Chung Yeung Festival thinking about death and the loved ones.
Hong Kong International Kung Fu Festival
